Turaida Museum Reserve invites all interested participants, especially representatives of the tourism sector, to attend the Information Day. During the event, upcoming exhibitions at Turaida Castle and a new exhibition in the church will be presented, along with the latest collection catalogue ā€œ13th–17th Century Military Antiquities Found at Turaida Castle.ā€ The key highlights and plans for 2026 will also be outlined.

As part of the Information Day, participants will also be introduced to the open-air interactive exhibition ā€œNature’s Pearlsā€ created within the project ā€œGarden Pearls for Allā€ in the territory of Turaida Museum Reserve – Turaida Forest Park. The exhibition has been open to visitors since 6 September 2025. It was created to provide a family-friendly, accessible, and educational environment that fosters understanding of biodiversity and its importance.

In 2026, several significant new developments are planned at Turaida Museum Reserve. Two new exhibitions will open at Turaida Castle. In the Main Tower, visitors will be able to explore an exhibition dedicated to the eight centuries of the castle’s history. In the North Inner Gate Tower – a historically uncovered and conserved building – visitors will learn about the tower’s role in the castle’s defence system.

After a break of several years, the Midsummer celebration will return to Turaida on 21 June under the motto ā€œOver the Hill.ā€ The event will begin at sunrise and continue until midnight, concluding with a concert by the folklore group Iļģi and communal dancing.

During the Information Day, a guest lecture will be delivered by social anthropologist and Associate Professor at the University of Latvia, Aivita Putniņa, titled ā€œHow Is the Family Changing — and Is the Museum Changing with It?ā€ The lecture-workshop will encourage discussion about changes in family relationships and their impact on the role of museums in contemporary society.

Participation fee – EUR 5.00 (includes printed materials, coffee, and snacks).

Please register by 26 March by calling +371 29384512 or writing to info@tmr.gov.lv.
