Located right near Räpina, the Palusalu Garden is an English garden of about two hectares, where landscaping works started in 2004. Trees, bushes, vines and lots of perennials are used in the garden. The types used in landscaping are mostly bushy perennials with a long blooming period. Lots of old varieties have been used. The garden is further decorated by bulbous flowers blooming in the spring, summer and autumn. The Palusalu Garden features:
  • decorative vegetable garden
  • sheltered flower beds
  • sunny flower beds
  • rock garden
  • peat bed
  • heather garden part.
There are more than 2,000 plant taxa in the ornamental garden. Asters, sneezeweed and phloxes are represented by many types; chryzanthemums, Culver’s roots and cranesbills are also present. Bulbous flowers are represented by lots of tulips, daffodils and naturalised bulbous flowers. The garden has been landscaped taking into account all four seasons, so that there is something to admire each season.

Individual guests at open garden days: 8.50 EUR.
Under 16: free of charge.
Guided tour (up to 60 persons): 50 EUR.

Seasonality
The garden welcomes guests in 2021 on the open garden days: 29-30 May, 27 June, 25 July, 29 August. Guided tours for groups (min. 10 persons) are available also on other days till the end of September. For guided tours prior booking is necessary.

How to get here? The Palusalu Garden is located right near Räpina, about 60 kilometres from Tartu.
