- 6 SEPTEMBER: Oak Day in Turaida
On Saturday, from 12:00 to 18:00, the traditional OAK DAY will take place at the Turaida Museum Reserve, along with the opening of the new permanent interactive exhibition in the Turaida Forest Park – “Pearls of Nature”. 🤝 This year’s special novelty, the exhibition “Pearls of Nature”, has been created with the financial support of the European Territorial Cooperation goal Interreg Estonia–Latvia Programme 2021–2027 “Garden Pearls II”. The exhibition design was developed by Didzis Jaunzems Architecture, skillfully creating interactive objects for families with children to explore nature. Visitors will be able to discover a real insect hotel, measure grand old trees, and learn about the life of the mysterious inhabitant of Turaida Forest Park – the hermit beetle.
- 6 SEPTEMBER: Kokmuiža Festival
On September 6, the Kokmuiža Festival will take place in Kocēni for the eleventh time! This year’s theme – the Living Manor. The Kokmuiža Festival is an annual cultural event in Kocēni, Valmiera Municipality, inviting everyone to enjoy a rich program and a historic atmosphere. During the festival, visitors can enjoy concerts, theatre performances, the manor market, creative workshops and activities for the whole family, as well as engaging talks about the history of manors and their relevance in today’s world. Local traditions and the heritage of Kokmuiža’s beer brewing are also celebrated. The festival takes place in the scenic surroundings of Kokmuiža Manor and is a wonderful opportunity to discover the cultural heritage of Vidzeme and enjoy time together!
- 20 SEPTEMBER: Using Exotic Herbs and Vegetables in Your Cooking – Tamme Farm Herb Garden
Autumn is harvest time. Come and visit Tamme Farm Herb Garden on the Day of Countryside Living, where we will introduce you to the use of exotic herbs and vegetables in your meals. We will offer tastings of snacks and drinks made from the most exciting plants in the herb garden. 🌿 The hostess, Heli, will take you on a fascinating scent and flavour journey through the collection garden, where over 500 different aromatic, seasoning, and medicinal plants grow. ☕ The herb garden café will be open, along with a farm shop and the largest selection of herb seedlings in the Baltics. 🕙 Visitors are welcome from 10:00 to 16:00.
