Every summer the lavender farm Lillas Lavender invites you to experience the magic of its lavish flowering lavender fields and purchase their organic lavender products. The family farm was set up in 2010 and its owners Inga Purava and Rihards Šķeltiņš have learned a lot over the years about the characteristics and behaviour of this beautiful southern plant in the north. Currently the farm, which already has two lavender fields – one in Kurzeme and one in Vidzeme – grows seven different varieties of lavender. These vary in appearance and aroma and range in colour from blues to mild pinks. The fields bloom progressively as each variety flowers at a different time.

When the lavender is harvested, the farm makes a variety of products like scented sachets, dried lavender petals, flower water and essential oils. The owners take pride in being a certified organic farm where everything from planting to processing is done by themselves.

Because lavenders bloom for quite a brief period, you should hurry up so as not to miss this beautiful event. The farm starts welcoming visitors from 1 July to 31 July.

‘Why are we worth visiting? Because we’re closer than France!’ say the owners of the lavender farm. Lillas Lavender welcomes anyone looking to immerse themselves in the aroma, the peace and harmony of these southern plants, to have a romantic photo session in a field of lavenders, or to learn more about the history, cultivation, harvesting, oil distillation and practical application of lavender. A Dream Room has been set up at the Lillas Lavender farm in Kurzeme in which you can experience lavender with your senses – through sight, hearing, touch and smell.
