About one-hectare in size, the Lõosilma farm garden is located near Audru small town, about 10 kilometres from Pärnu. The English style garden is predominantly ornamental in its trends: plants are attempted to match, and different communities adjusted with each other. The focus lies on summer flowers, which are colourful and form beautiful groups.

The garden features:

  • colourful summer flowers arranged in beautiful designs,
  • various types of mint plants,
  • shade beds lined with peat blocks, with lots of rhododendrons, fern and heathers,
  • pearl oyster mushroom farming.

The story behind the name Lõosilma Farm

Lõosilm – forget-me-not in English – is a small and fragile light blue flower growing naturally by the main entrance road to the farm, hence the name of the farm. When the owners bought the house and the plot in 1985, the whole area was covered by undergrowth and old fallen-down fruit trees.  To date, the plot has been landscaped into an ornamental garden with various flowers, trees and bushes and surrounded by a large lawn area. The trees in the former fruit garden have been replaced by columnar apple trees and a few berry bushes.

Workshops at Lõosilma Farm

The hostess at Lõosilma Farm has a diploma in horticulture and is happy to share her knowledge in the gardening workshops. There is a separate pavilion for that in the garden. The maximum size of groups to be hosted is 45 people, but also depends on the topic of the workshop. Various plants and cuttings are sold on site. Preserves can also be bought.

Next to the farm, the owners have a unique caravan park. It is one of the most modern caravan parks in Estonia, where the electricity comes from a large rotating solar panel and a couple of smaller panels. Handcrafted items and souvenirs can be bought from the tourist information office on site.
